For the ultimate nature and adventure experience, try our combination ziplining and cave tubing tour. Your time in the air will have you gliding amid the rainforest canopy at heights of up to 80 feet above the jungle floor. In the water, you’ll float through an awe-inspiring cave system that was once revered by the ancient Maya. Our experienced guides will ensure that your tour is fun, insightful, and safe. Lunch included.
Your Ziplining and Cave Tubing Adventure begins at the Belize Tourism Village. This is where all Belize City cruise ship tenders dock. A few steps from your tender, you will meet our team and board a passenger van that will transport you into the interior.
After a scenic tour through colonial Belize City, you will continue inland along the Western Highway, passing through quaint Creole settlements and onto the hallowed grounds of the Caves Branch River Archaeological Reserve. From there, you are only a few minutes away from the ziplining nature course.
Whether you’re an adventure seeker or a nature lover, ziplining is an experience you won’t soon forget. You’ll glide along a steel cable at eye level with the treetops of the rainforest at a smooth and gentle pace. The ziplining course is configured with eight separate platforms to give you a variety of perspectives on the rainforest ecosystem. The distance between the platforms ranges from 40 to 300 feet.
Safety is the starting point of your tour. The ziplining course you’ll be traversing has the longest track record of any complex in Belize and was built to the standards of the Association for Challenge Course Technologists. Each participants is given a safety briefing and carefully outfitted with a body harness, pulleys, helmet, and gloves. Your guides will continue to offer instruction, advice, and local insight as they accompany you along the course.
Ziplining only option
If you’ve chosen the ziplining only option, the adventure part of your tour ends at the final platform. Once you’ve slipped out of your gear, you’re free to take a dip in the Caves Branch River or relax at a nearby restaurant.
Ziplining/Cave Tubing combo
If you’ve elected the cave tubing option, the next stage of your adventure begins with a change of gear. For cave tubing, your guides will outfit you with an adjustable headlamp, life jacket, and inner tube. After your safety briefing, you will embark on a nature walk through lush, tropical rainforest and caves once inhabited by the ancient Mayans. Often celebrated for their discoveries in math and science, the Mayans believed the caves were a supernatural realm where their ancestors resided, as well as the deities of nature, such as rain, thunder and lightning. Along the way, your tour guide will point out native species of plant and animal life.
At the end of your nature trail, you will enter into the Caves Branch River to embark on a tubing ride that will take you through waters that range from placid to quick-moving rapids. The cave system you will explore features enormous chambers with cathedral-sized rooms. Watch in amazement as your headlamp shines on bizarre limestone shapes, stalactites, stalagmites, flowstones and, ultimately, into the darkness beyond. Listen to water dripping from spectacular ceiling formations or to your own voice bounce off distance walls.
When you exit the river, you’ll have a few minutes to dry off and look back on your trail of adventure. You will then be treated to a home-cooked lunch at a local restaurant. The menu typically includes Belizean stewed chicken, rice & beans, slaw, and banana bread. A soft drink is included, and there is a full service bar available for adult beverage purchases.
You’ll soak in more memories on your way back to the Tourism Village and also enjoy a snack of fresh fruit.
As with all Coral Breeze excursions, throughout your tour your guides will be eager to enrich you with knowledge about Belize, its diverse peoples, history, and culture.
Our prices are well below the cost of comparable tours sold through the cruise ships and include all expenses (park fee, taxes, equipment, guide). Children must be at least 40 inches to participate.
Your tour departs near Terminal 4 inside the Tourism Village in Belize City (the dock area where the cruise ship tender boats drop off their passengers). As you disembark from your tender boat, turn left and walk along the boardwalk toward Terminal 4. Just past the Village Pharmacy storefront, you will see a sign for Coral Breeze Adventure Tours (our local operations partner) and will be met by your guide. Please ask for Ivar or Star if you cannot find your guide.
Our tours are scheduled to fit within the port time of the cruise ships arriving in Belize City. We monitor the cruise ship tender schedules and plan our tour itineraries to give you plenty of time to return back to your ship.
Ziplining is relatively strenuous. Participants should be relatively fit and weigh less than 250 pounds. Children under 10 (or under 40 inches in height) and pregnant women are not allowed to participate. Ziplining is also not recommended for people with heart problems, seizure disorders, or vertigo.
The cave tubing tour generally requires extended periods of walking over varied terrain. There may be steps, inclines, cobblestone surfaces, and extended periods of standing. Participants should also be able to handle the slight to moderate current of the river while tubing. Guests with physical limitations should take these factors into account.
Your deposit is fully refundable if you cancel your reservation at least 4 days before your tour. In addition, you will receive a full refund if your cruise ship does not stop in Belize for any reason, or if weather conditions or other factors force us to cancel your reservation. Balance payments in Belize must be paid in cash with U.S. dollars. If you wish to pay your balance in advance by credit card, a surcharge of 4 percent of the payment amount will be charged to your credit card.
Reserve a group of 12 or more and get a 10 percent discount on your total price. Please note that groups formed online to qualify for the discount (e.g., “roll-call groups”) are not eligible.
